This section takes you through the steps required to set up Personal Web hosting with TelstraClear. Every clear.net.nz user-id (the user-id you use to dial in with) can have it's own personal web page. The personal web page is associated with the user-id. This means that everyone in the family can have their own web page!
Accessing your web page
Once you have set up a personal web page(s) people can access your page by entering:http://home.clear.net.nz/pages/user-id
where user-id is the page you want to access (your own, for example). The exception to this is if you have a Domain Name hosted with TelstraClear and you have set up a personal web page for this. In this case you would access your page as follows:
http://home.clear.net.nz/prefix/user-id
where prefix is the prefix you were allocated when you set up Mail Hosting and user-id is the clear.net.nz user-id.
Getting Set Up
- Go to the Manage Users page on the TelstraClear website.
Enter your TelstraClear account number and password. This is your TelstraClear password NOT your clear.net.nz login and password. You will find your TelstraClear account number on your monthly TelstraClear account.
- Click on the 'Manage Users' link and the 'Manage Users - Main Menu' page will appear. Near the bottom of the page you will see a list of all the users currently registered on your account. There is also a column showing the status of Personal Web pages
From the list of User-ids, select the user whose Personal Web page you want to set up. Click on the 'Modify' button next to that User. The 'Manage Users - Modify User' page will appear. The user-id you are modifying appears in the page title. Check you are modifying the right user. In the Personal web service section there is a check box labelled 'Personal Web'. Clicking in the check box will enable the Personal Web page for this user, indicated by a tick in the check box.
Once you have checked all the details are correct, click the 'Save Changes' button (if you change your mind at this point, you can click the 'Cancel' button to ignore any changes you have made). The 'Manage Users - Main Menu' page will reload. - Check the 'Personal Web' column next to the User-id you just modified. There should be a 'YES' to indicate Personal Web pages have been set up for that user.
- Repeat step 2 for any other users you wish to set up at this time.
- When you have finished, click on the 'logout' link.
